Took car in for its mot this morning and just needed a new tyre which was great. I then drove away and after a mile or so, the coil light started flashing and went into limp mode. Pulled over and restarted and it disappeared however about ten mins later it returned along with the engine management light.
Then after itd stood for a few hours, the EM light then came on but no limp mode and no coil light.
Im confused but no idea why all of a sudden my dash is lit up like Blackpool illuminations!
Im also concerned its because ive had the emissions update and then its happened just after its been through MOT testing conditions. Just seems a bit suss 🤔🤔🤔

The ECU is constantly monitoring sensors to detect possible faults and depending on the severity that can raise engine management and emmiissons lights etc and in more severe cases trigger "limp mode".

Not all the lights will require to be re-set, less severe ones will go out once the fault clears so itis quite possible this is what has happened to yours.

If you have access to someone with VCDS or a code reader you could ask them to scan for faullts as they give a better idea of the fault. Codes are stored in memory, even when intermittent or non-current until such time as the memory is cleared.
