Hey everyone,

I've some quick research about swapping a Mk4 engine into a Mk5 car, but not really found too much about it.

I recently started a plan to upgrade my BXE 1.9TDI engine to use a GT1749VB turbo and PD150 injectors. However, upon talking to my tuning guy, he mentioned how the BXE engine is known for putting a rod through the block, which I'd rather avoid...

My question is, how difficult would it be to swap in an ASV engine to my Mk5 Jetta. Just a thought because I know the 1.9TDI is quite similar to that of the older Mk4 engines. Just wondering about mounts and electronics really.

Thanks for any input!

Jack

Well I've found out that ASV physically fits. But there's an issue with the crankcase sensor which requires the block to be drilled out to fit it?

Has anyone got any information on that?

Nope, but get everything from the donor, ecu, engine together. So all the sensors would be there or not.
