What a beatuiful and sparkly engine bay you have there lol good job. Like the pedals too, might get me some, do you know if you can get a set thats say "TDI" rather than GTI?
The R8 cap ...all you need to do is split the cap ....there is a small seal just under the chrome top , if you remove it there is a split in the plastic ....you need to prise it apart ....then you will see some little cutouts in the top part that fit into lugs in the bottom part to stop it spinning round ...you need to put some extra cuts into the top part to allow you to centralise the two parts if you know what i mean ....i used a bit of white paint and put it on the 4 lugs , then put other half onto making sure it was in same position as your old cap and press together hard ...then should have the 4 paint marks on the top part of cap which you just cut out and then put cap back together ...basically straight forward
no you use both parts of the R8 cap ...just you need to make sure the two metal tab things that hold the cap to the rockerbox is inline the the cap handle ....when you get the cap its out of line with the grab handle bit ...look at your original cap and you will see what i mean
No that is original pipe ...you mean the one that goes above the cambelt and round front under the engine cover ? i know mine had been changed before i had it as they had been modified ...but thats about as much as i know ...lol
Bailey12856 said to use Carlack 68 - Special Cleaner of which i did and once dry use Autoglym tyre dressing ...got to say does work a treat ....ow i used a jetwash on it too .
The strange thing is with these oil caps is that they don't need modifying if you remove the oil filler extension on the rocker cover if you have removed the engine cover, mine now sits 90 degrees out with the extension removed, why VW couldn't get the extension in the correct orrientation is beyond me [:S]
the dash and door handle trim ? Its netoptic trim ....if that is what you mean
