Hi can anyone with a Mk4 R32 golf sporting a Milltek GT100 tipped exhaust please help.. i need to know the measurements highlighted in the red box's on the image..

i wanna cut the lower black plastic valance on my GT TDI bumper to house them as part of Milltek system. i want to butch it if thats all i end up destroying leaving the top part intact. I really think i can do this virtually hassle free and with just the black plastic being butchered.

OUTSIDE LED DOOR HANDLE LIGHTS

I cannot be held responsible if you attempt and it goes wrong.

One of the easiest mods to do.. make your car look a bit more bling, a bit more BMW.

So.. what do you need?
2 x Ozium bullet led bulbs. 6mm flush mount, up to you if you want plastic or aluminium housing. I got the aluminium this time.

Then, take out your door handle blank and begin drilling starting with tiny drill bits. Remember you are drilling the cover and the steel housing of the key blank.

Eventually, when you've done it right, you can slip in the led bulb like this. Remember there's a lip on the bulb, so not to drill the hole too big.
It'll end up like this. I used waterproof glue to hold it in situ.

The next steps are to remove the inner door casing. To remove the door casing, there's plenty of guides to take out the screws. Unplug the electrical window switch connector and door puddle light and unhook the inner door handle cable.. pull up from bottom gently, then remove.
You will be splicing into the puddle light wire here...

Put back in the door handle blank when you have the led bolt glued in. Feed the wire through here. You will have to take the whole inner skin off really, otherwise it's an individual drill hole to feed through the 3ft cable attached to the led.
Splice it to the puddle light wire, red to red, black to brown.

End result after you've put everything together is this...

Unlike the Fabia vrs I had, the puddle lights don't fade on whilst the door is closed. To get around this the simple way, would be to wire it up to the interior vanity light instead of the puddle light. Or programme the puddle light to stay on when the door is closed using vagcom.
I might splice it to the interior vanity light just because I've got spare wiring anyway.
Enjoy!
