Just got back from working up scotland and thought me white babes TDi was itching to see me, went to start her up and it was dead, just my airbag fault light that was on??NONE of the ignition or handbrake light came on, none of my dials, trip computer or dash lights like beam were showing yet my indicators worked..,

i thought id had a flat which i do now and again as i have got some clifford flashers in the screens and they sometimes tend to drain the battery. so i got me jump cables to the battery

I jumped it with my work van but still got no lights from the ignitions....i gave the key a turn and it started but cut off straight away.....i gave the battery a bit of time to charge with the jump leads and gave it another blast....STILL no lights and the same.......Am well stumped as to what this can be?? Can a blown fuse cause these to be off and not let the engine fire up?? Ive got a clifford 350 and thats working fine tooo

Appreciate the advise..............CHeeers

Im not quite sure buddy, Iv just disconnected both my batteries now and trying to reset it all, hoping that mite work but if it is as u say a ignition switch then would this let my car start for that few seconds before it cutting out...?

Ill get onto it, i know what you mean and now it does makes sense that it sounds more like the clifford not triggering my ignition, probly why car cutting out straight after i start it....Nice 1 jim

The cliffords are wired to the starter and ignition wire, or any aftermarket immobiliser is.

Most are wired to the fuel pump but i like it when their wired to the ignition because if the lights don't light up then your narrowed down to the ignition, where as if the engines turning but not starting and it's wired into the fuel pump then it could be engine ignition or fuel problem, and obviously trying to diagnose that is more time consuming.

Glad your fixed..
