The gray/blue wire is always the dimmer plus and brown is the earth.

My question is, does anyone have a wiring diagram for the plug at the back of the handle . My idea is to put small LEDs inside the door handle on the inside and i was thinking using the power source for that light in the switch to wire up my LEDs

Any help welcomed as im very confused at the moment

Thanks rmk-64 i had just pm'd you . that sounds like alot of work. I have 5 mm leds in, and fitted just need to how to wire them .

 

Earth is always solid brown on German cars.

 

Tried it that way and LED kept on flickering [8o|] Thanks Imagewerx . i am just thinking of wiring them into the LEDs in the bottom of my door !!

i took apart my window swtich and tagged some wires on the tabs that go the pcb and went out of the swtich wiv some kaynar witr . i did this as i dont want to hav to cut my loom open or scothch lock it and i can buy the swtich cheaper than a whole loom

 

They look great jcbed. Im still lost. Im learning as i go about vw's and what a steep learning curve it is !! What wires in the window switch ?? As mk-64 said the grey blue is the side light and imagewrex said brown is always the earth. Tried that combination and keeps flashing ! Im sorry for annoying all of ye just really lost []

I didn't use any of the wires from the for switches in the end . I ran separate wires to the all four door triggers from the dimmer switch has I was having similar problems to what you say your having

 

Did you have to do much rooting to run the wires ??

 

if you would like tomoro i will look at what colours it is connected to maber a pic if i can

right i did my drivers side last night i didnt hav much time to look , i didnt fancy cutting the sheathing eather . much eaiserto rip appart the mirror swtich . lol

but haynes manule sayes pass side red and gray / blue . dont know pollarty

and gray blue and brown black drivers side mirror swtich hope this helps
