Yes, I went in with the intention of ordering a 2.0TDI GT with a few options that should have come to around 27k and we negotiated it down to 24.5k with a free reversing camera thrown in to sweeten the deal.

 Nice work !! so there are discounts to be had already , what options did you get ?

It was a Black Leather interior, Xenon Headlights (before the whole saga of the LED DRL's which can now be specced for an additional cost), Climate Control, 18" Alloy Wheels, Pearl Black Paint, Park Assist and Winter Pack.  They threw in the rear camera for no extra charge.

Glad you got a decent discount as the leather option is way over priced - about double leather on any other car - A3, BMW 1, Leon etc.

What delivery time did they give you ?

I'm hoping that discounts for the GTD will be 8%+ in a years time - that would help out

Not that much unfortunately - del miles (just off transporter) 13 plate pre-reg 1.6tdi SE or £19k or 2.0Tdi GT £21.5k. That includes metallic but other than that it's the std car.

According the the golfgtiforum, there's discounts around of 8-10%. Takes a but of haggling and perhaps there's more room to manoeuvre if options are added

Specked my GTI  on DTD and went to my local dealers - 2nd one matched the DTD 9.7% discount and gave me free mud flaps all round and a full tank of fuel
