u can lower the back right down as far as u can go will not rub then go for around 45 mm on front , on mine tht is about 33-35 coils down on the front struts,,,, and looks good! arb can go as low as u like, but beware speed bumps
Posted 14 March 2009 - 01:43 PM

Posted 14 March 2009 - 05:54 PM
Thanks for all the comments [] at some point il lower it a bit more, but not alot. Speed bump at work is already very close to ripping my car to shreds [:(]

Looks cool, i like the wheels, tints, rear lights etc, and the drop makes all the difference. I reckon you should now colour code the rubstrips - dont underestimate how much of an improvement this will make, believe me i've been there with my 1.6. [Y]
ps. the wheels are nice but the black is slightly ott - have you thought about getting them refurbed in a slightly lighter colour - ie dark grey like santa monicas? would look more subtle. [Y]
Posted 15 March 2009 - 04:55 AM
tints? is not tinted.. yet. []
As for the wheels, I like them as they are and it took me quite a while to find them in that finish to be honest. But each to their own [:)]
and colour coding is on the list for the summer

looking good mate. drop it a bit more i rekons.
i must say, i know the golf naturally sits high but i dont think ive ever seen one sitting that high in your before pics[:DD] big improvement with the drop either way. im diggin the Nouvarili's too (spelling) they suit the car. id get an anni/rieger/4 mo front valance now, and maybe some skirts.
how much was the JOM kit out of interest?

The JOM kit was £249, not alot and probably not the best but this is the first set of coilies ive owned and I wasnt going to blow big bucks if I didnt like the ride.. but i love it! Throw it round corners and it just shoots through them its amazing what a difference it makes words can't describe it.
The kit I got was this one

i like a lot
Pm me what you paid mate as I am pricing up stuff at mo.
Posted 24 March 2009 - 05:46 PM
cool man thanks for the link..i might get some very soon. im on -45mm springs at the mo but im not low enough on the front, its wierd. my rear is on its absoulte arse, looks like an elephant is in my boot but then the front is sitting noticable higher.
Posted 24 March 2009 - 05:47 PM
sorry i forgot to ask, whats the ride like? comfort wise. is it crashy/harsh or just a lot neater/firmer?
my springs are so harsh it does my Parus caeruleus in lol. 19's dont help either but well.
Posted 24 March 2009 - 06:18 PM
lee, it was £249.
rox1oh, the ride is a bit bouncy on day to day driving and very stiff over speed bumps etc, but ive had it on the car now just over a week and ive got used to the ride. its very smooth on smooth roads and quite bumpy/bouncy on rough roads but if you want the better handeling you have to pay the price i guess lol.
Ive still to play around with the setup drop the car a bit more, see what it rides like then. But some adjustable drop links are needed first me thinks as its already knocking on the drive shaft I think

looks nice mate i think you need to wind them down a little more unless they are on the bottom setting already?? also if they are it could be your shockers that are stopping it going down more... what shocks have u got are they standard? or ones that came with coil over setup
Posted 25 March 2009 - 03:40 AM

I thought you said they weren't tinted?![]()
Yes they are tinted from factory [whistle] but not aftermarket tinted..
and they are not at the bottom setting yet far from if i remember correctly. And yes I have got the shocks from the coilover kit.
