Not driveable? Hey you know what they say ... 'if it aint rubbin ... '

Did you not read? [:P]

Front passenger side hub snapped wishbone crushed drive haft ripped out
of gearbox, wing bent back so door does not open and probably a fair bit
of damage to top mount and coilovers

Nope. The only value I have ever told them was the base value - £4000. They never asked about the value of the mods to be honest, but everything is listed. Worked out yesterday its around £3k of mods!

If the mods are worth keeping hopefully you could recover the costs, just have to figure out how to transport the car, for the cost of moving the car has to be worth it for the cost back of the mods surely?

Trouble is, with the crash, the mods are all knackered!

For a start the passenger side coilover was bent.

Car slide on its front bumper after hitting the kerb so front bumper is knackerd and so is rear from impact.

Exhaust may be bent, again from impact (all cracked).

Passenger side alloy is cracked  and passenger rear one has huge gouge missing.

Only bits really salvageable are the depo projectors, worth about £100 at a push and maybe 3 winter tyres mods wise. And 1x front coilover strut and 2x rear springs + adjusters maybe shockers too (its onyl a JOM kit so only costs £170 new anyway). Not worth it to be honest.

If the car was still driveable or atleast all 4 wheels still attached I would have asked for it back and broke it for parts. But when its in the state its in, its really not worth it for me and nor do I have the time having a 1month old baby to look after too [:(]

A few pics:

A few plans already, new alloys keep those as winters and new suspension and maybe a 4mo rear valance. Already has a discrete turbo back system on it, but I like to see tailpipes [:D]

They have names on them mate, they aren't legal otherwise, they need the plate maker and the British standard number otherwise they are deemed illegal on the MOT test for some reason, petty i know!

My new plates from Dubmeister say 'Regal Motorsport' at the bottom, the previous plates i had from them said 'Dubmeister' on the bottom, that said they were ordered from the same website.

Yes

Unfortunatly I couldn't find a decent mk5 in the same price bracket! That coupled with saving to move out, my head said to get a bora instead.

Insurance were penis's and offered me £3000 for the golf (take away £400 for excess left me with £2600). Luckily they increased it to £3700 the other day and picking up the bora for £3400 with 90k on the clock FSH timing belt, clutch and flywheel etc replaced at 60k. And its already been remapped by jabba.

Don't mention the word insurance to me lol, I've spent 4 days trying to get a decent price on my A3. I've managed to save myself a massive 40p per month after searching and searching!

Despite not claiming this year it's risen yet again - i hate them!

I see where you're coming from mate about the Golf/Bora prices and that does sounds like a good buy to be fair though mate, is it a 130? Is the insurance reasonable?

Its an extra £200 something a year on insurance, not a deal breaker!

Who provided your insurance mate, anything with a BD postcode seems to be sky high at the moment, won't be helped because of the dodgy dealings/insurance scams and people with no insurance pushing it up by some of our chums in Bradford.

Should be a fair tool if it's kicking out 180, my 130 was around 170 and that shifted.
