Retro fit Xenons and MOT?

What's the craic in relation to retro fitting xenons and passing/failing MOT? I see some cars with the retrofit and they blind you coming down the road.

i have a set of hids 55w 6k in my car and they pased the mot and so did the missus' car but just make sure the light are aligned before the mot

 i'm an mot tester, maybe biased towards the dubs, but id pass it so long as the beam pattern is ok

 Before we go any further is this Xenon headlights or a HID kit were talking about?

Sorry should have clarified. It's the retro fit HID's taht you see going around. Deciding on wether to go for R32 Headlights or retrofit for half the price or less.
