Alloys look daft, max power front bumper and a quad exhaust??! What a pile of chav trash! Thought r golfs were still supposed to hold some status, not fall into the trev trap of vauxhall and ford!

It looks less sporty ... somewhere I think they wanted it back to the original theme "wolf in sheep clothing" but than they should have put a less sporty looking exhaust on the back....  that would have made more sense...  but hey all can be changed... it is all about the engine and drive ability... So if I ever get one it has to be the R

Surprised at all the negativity on here about the fastest production Golf ever.

Mine is ordered anyway - black with 5 doors and DSG :-)

Yes sir. I ordered through Steve at Broadspeed and saved just shy of 10% on list.

Sounds nice from the inside. I think it'll need a milltek to sound impressive from the outside though.

I like it. Looks awesome in the video. If I had the money, I'd buy one!

It does look quite plain in white in the pics above!

Seen a couple of gti's and I was soo mehh about them. Vw are losing it :-(

Pretty sure you would change your mind if you drove the new GTi. I drove the performance pack version last week and absolutely loved it.

Having come from a line of VAG cars and experiencing various models of the Golf including the MK4 1.8T Golf GTi, owning the same car in the guise of a 2004 SEAT Toledo 1.8T Sport with the AUQ engine and bolt ons to 250bhp then a 2007 MK2 Leon Cupra (first one ever to Stage 2+) then another Leon Cupra in 2010 again to Stage 2+ with every imaginable bolt on - make no mistake when I say the MK7 is a lot more capable than its predecessors not to mention faster. And it is simply nicer inside too, nicer to drive and in my opinion, awesome to look at. In fact to be honest I think the MK7 Golf GTi looks better than the MK 7 Golf R. I agree with the comments above about the quad exhausts - I hope there is a single exit per side aftermarket version like the GTi has - that along with no R badges, black mirrors and wheels will = stealth bomber :)
