After hours of trawling through the classifieds on Autotrader, Pistonheads, eBay and Gumtree, I found the car I have been looking for ever since I departed with my last https://uk-mkivs.net...s/t/448826.aspx. I found the advert on Gumtree and went to see it as soon as I could. The car was in Nottingham, so it was a 6 hour round trip but well and truly worth it although my dad drove it home, I still followed it back not being able to take the grin off my face the whole way home emotion-2.gif.

The car : It has Full service history with only 2 owners ( the last owner had it for 10 years ).It's a 2003 Volkswagen Golf MKIV GTi 1.8 Turbo (AUQ - 6 speed gear box and 180 BHP) in 3 door, finished in Tornado red with only 74,500 miles on the clock.

I thought I could resist buying new bits for the car, lasted a good few days :P. Just bought some Pioneer speakers for the front, to go with the 6X9's in the parcel shelf and the head unit I already had from my previous car. The car is absolutely filthy at the moment but I shall be giving it a good clean and polish this weekend, so I will hopefully get a few pictures up afterwards !

Can't beat the 6th gear!

i currently get approx 330 miles from a full tank £75 ish. 90% of my driving is town driving. Whenever I take it on a trip to the coast etc I can quite easily see 38-42 mpg on the trip computer and reach 400 miles to a tank.

It's had a fair few mods mentioned in my signature so not sure what mpg it will get after a map!

Fair enough, I average 25mpg and most of my driving is town driving too. Ahh that's alright then Smile

Haha, I can't stop looking at bits to do on the car, it's so exciting !

Decided to change the suspension as it was too low and I couldn't hack having to swerve around bumps and go down specific roads just because some roads were quite bumpy ( well extremely bumpy but completely normal with a standard suspension set up ). So I bought some Bilstein shock absorbers, 30mm Eibach springs and some fully refurbished genuine BBS Montreal 2's with Goodyear tyres. Also gave her a well needed clean !

In full 'Winter Mode'

Modifications to date :

Oettinger grill
Tinted windows
Aero wipers ( front )
Pioneer MVH 8200BT
Pioneer speakers all round
Bilstein B12 Pro Suspension kit
30mm Eibach springs
BBS Montreal 2's
Volkswagen centre caps ( Silver on Black )
Volkswagen wheel nut covers ( Black )
Goodyear tyres

Thank-you, I agree looks much better after it has been cleaned. And indeed ! :Y: .

I spent around 6 months looking for this car, but it was well and truly worth it, so glad I waited, although there were only a handful for sale during that time.

Thank-you ! I wasn't asking for swaps but I am looking to sell them. They are 18" Audi RS4 V1 ( Replicas) They are not in mint condition and as far as I know have been on the car for the past 10 years and haven't been refurbished, (curbing by the previous owner ) so ideally they could do with being refurbished and possibly 2 new tyres.

This is my second red mk4 GTi ? haha. Thank-you, I do clean it as often as I can and usually end up giving it the full wax and polish too   :P.

I did mate, it was an great experience !. Yeah, I was in the same boat, I thought I would never get insured. But then thanks to multi car insurance, mine was extremely cheap emotion-1.gif

Thank-you ! Hopefully I will be able to start getting various bits done, after my exams.

After not cleaning the car for almost 2 months, it was starting to get horribly filthy. You know your car is filthy when your gloss black wheels are grey  :P

Dirty side shot. Red cars look dreadful when they are dirty  :(

Those gloss black wheels

Obligatory dirty bum picture.

Finally got round to giving her, the first wash/clean of 2014 ( Sunday the 2nd of February 2014 ). The difference between how it was before and afterwards, makes me never want to leave it that long before a clean ever again, it was horrific. Anyway, pictures after the wash.

And lastly, those gloss black wheels  :D

Breaking up for half term next Friday, so hopefully I should have a few updates for then which will also tidy her up for Ultimate Dubs 2014.

Had an awesome day at Ultimate Dubs a couple of weeks ago, it was the first show I had ever been to which also gave me a chance to finally meet a few people from the forum and the weather was perfect too!

Never been to anything quite like it before, couldn't think of a better way to spend the day  :)

Here's my entrance photo and couple that @alex-atari took  :Y:
