Just ordered a new R.

Got a great leasing deal and couldn't resist. I went for a base model with 5 doors, manual in White. The DSG option was an extra £18 per month and I don't think it is worth the extra money to me as I like my current manual GTI.

I know the DSG is quicker to 60 and the demonstrator was a DSG as well. Has anyone driven both and is it noticeable?

Can't answer but can I ask what the offer is ? I got an email this morning for £2400 down, then £180 per month for a 5 door manual, 10k pa

Not a bad price - it's got us thinking of changing wifey's car

What model was that on? Is that through VW themselves? I havent really looked into leasing etc but have started my own business and might have a look into it, just out of curiosity.

Just don't expect it too soon. I've been quoted Jan 15 but wouldn't be surprised too expect it in March! Still till then I've got my mk4 which I love and am seriously considering keeping and stripping out as a track car

Has anyone got a deal from the local dealers (Especially in the north east), would rather get one direct from the dealer,

The r seems to be up at half price against the other cars so not likely to be across the board

Just ordered a white 5 door dsg for the wife, for March delivery. Very few cars left on the deals. New price is 100£ a month more, but managed to secure one from the previous allocation.
Just need to sell her mk6 GTI now, but got 5 months to find a buyer

Very few left at otiginal (silly) prices. A few companies still have a few of their allocation left, but everyone else is now 100-150£ a month more expensive.
Bearing in mind that the 32k costs 1k a year in interest minimum, you're paying 3k a year for the depreciation. So residuals would have to be 26k for vw to break even. Bonkers.
Latest deals are on gtd's. Similar money to the previous r deals.

i considered gettinb golf R when on offer (£220 month) until i drove my mates A45 amg...golf R is quite slow compared to how the A45 drives and its economical too when being sensible...but the golf R looks better i think

I just got my R on Friday (ordered it on 12th July!!) and the dealer said the wait for factory build is 7 to 8 months now, and the deals are gone for anything not already allocated or built. I got mine after looking for a Leon Cupra 280 and seeing the deals for the R undercutting it by £60pcm at the time. I couldn't work out how they coulkd offer it as cheap as they did - but I am not one to argue!

2003 Mini Cooper S - 17% Pulley Reduction, Bluefin (....yeah, I know!). Fun station car!!

2012 Leon Supercopa CR170 - Linea Grille, Satin black BBS wheels - selling after Xmas!!

After nearly 6 years with the GTI, I have bit the bullet and ordered a Mk7 R, Lapiz Blue DSG, the first non manual car I have owned. Now the wait becomes begins.
