@NZDubNurd some pics for you

Legend! Cheers - I'm stalking you on photobucket now anyhoo! :P

Good to know about the tank mounts - so far, I'd assumed the front ones would line up, and the rears would just need rivnuts inserted... bummer :(

Thanks Heaps ;)

northpole - thanks bud, comments always appreciated :Y:

NZDubNurd - the touran is longer in the tank area so needs to be pushed back, i lost the pics of the mounts installed somehow :( but welded them to the front crossmember where original straps mount roughly 30mm toward the rear of the car, the outer straps were then bolted to the added crossmember, the centre strap was cut off existing mount (doubles as exhaust hanger) and i used touran strap - reshaped it, welded it to 4mo exhaust hanger and then extended it to the added crossmember. i bolted that one through the rear floor with a spreader plate to add a bit more rigidity to the added crossmember not that it would go anywhere but every little helps right.

the sections i notched were replaced with thicker metal - 2mm on outer sections and the centre (rear seat support) was 3mm steel - again probably over kill but rather over than under kill   the wheel well was replaced with 2mm pre zinc primed steel too, eventually when i have a bit more free cash i'll probably sound deaden that area although should be pretty quiet under touran floor (thick layers) and extra seats.

interior is fully refitted and functional as stock (no changes needed) anything else let me know :Y:

Any build that is so perfectly done is worth praise and should be raved about... so no thanks! I simply admire your work.

It's a bit of a downer that you can't drive it yet due to the missing part, but at least you can take your time (If you know the meaning) putting the rest of it back together so you don't miss anything.

Your thread popped up on my Facebook feed mate, it's been a helluva long time since I've been in here and I just wanted to say kudos to your abilities and dedication to the project. It looks a fantastic car!

But bring back the reverse sensors so the missus doesn't stack it! :D /joke

I'd certainly bung in an RCD510 for a bit of touchscreen flair :)

Again, well done. Now fill the house with kids and chuck them in the back! I want this bus!

northpole - i'm not sure there's much of a market for this sort of thing, not many people as stupid as me

NZDubNurd - no problem bud, would have been a lot easier if there was any real info on it, i hate it when people do stuff and act like they've invented the wheel all secretive - the vw community is about sharing and helping each other, if something i've done can help others or make things easier then thats all good.

regards filler neck i joined s3 neck to touran neck about half way up, heated both necks, pressed 32mm ally sleeve inside each neck then sleeved outer with fuel resistant silicon 36mm hose - i was reluctant to join it below tank level.

Jammy B - thanks for checking out the build bud, i just sold my crappy ebay touch screen yesterday and replaced with mfd2, i'm not really into fancy stereos anymore, as long as it plays radio and can plug my phone in i'm happy, only got 2 speakers aswell haha

Had a couple of deliveries yesterday

Rich was nice enough to drop off MFD2 stereo so i could get that dog poo ebay thing out of my car

9DB21025-67C4-4077-A7BD-9599DC0411B0_zps

No idea how happy it makes me to have a normal stereo that does what you want when you want

Also these arrived x 4

3D4D95B5-3035-4147-BD03-0CF106475692_zps

And these

9CE33FE1-AC65-40A2-B0D8-B2EF8AC139CF_zps

To replace these that the ebay stereo managed to blow up

2E32E971-AF1B-4781-956A-741EBCCF7685_zps

Didn't get any fitted pics but sound much better, need to add the rear 2 and wiring as the touran was pov spec and only came with fronts haha

Got these next day service from dag, mafe them up in black and posted same day

F055297B-6023-4AA2-B69E-B310FB0FEA9A_zps

Forgot to take fitted pics but i'm sure you can imagine, i've bought some r20 rear brakes too from a guy on ebay but 80% sure he's a scammer, we'll see if they arrive

Also treated it to a wash and another 4 wheel hunter geo, drives so much nicer :)

If you are going to run them amplified i would take the time to use some dynamat or the likes of that just to make sure you don't get vibrating windows ;) other than that nice upgrade on the MFD2 it looks like it should have been in there from day one .

northpole - will just be running off the mfd2, my loud music days are long gone, i'd have been happy with replacement stock but these worked out cheaper haha, i knew deep down i shouldn't have bought that flashy looking ebay china plop - the stereo that does everything you could ever need - badly! mfd2 does what it should when it should, it's not much to ask haha, i may upgrade to something a bit more modern one day but lots of other bits and bobs absorbong my cash at the mo.

ks246 - other than the tte420 thats on order;

rear brakes are now sorted as of last night

made impulse buy of new steering wheel and gearknob last night

r-tech map that i'm really looking forward to (don't like this one at all)

also on the cards in the distant future is another interior, touran interior is all the same fitment wise from 2003 - 2014 so will get a later spec set of seats and cards - hoping to pick up some better front seats (mk6 gti etc) and get them trimmed to match the rest of the interior to keep with the OEM looks / equiptment theme, the loom / controls from the golf are already fitted for heated seats so would be rude not to use that too.

will 100% be getting the rear windows lightly tinted, think it'll make it look slightly more modern too and a cleaner look

maybe i'll do it one day J but won't actively go for the purpose of just going up the strip

Managed to pick up a full set of s3 / r32 etc brakes (only needed rear so will sell fronts on)

Ever since i went for the 370mm ttrs fronts the rears were dwarfed and under very heavy braking the tail got a bit loose, so been looking for the 310mm vented set up for a while, after a few UPS dramas (losing 2 discs) it all arived (in installments) i'd already bought shields and pads

2DD646DE-3B5A-406C-B882-090A81E01010_zps

So off with the old 286mm gti set up

9797D03F-DF51-4787-BC92-45857F0B31E0_zps

And on with the 310mm luckily came in black to match ttrs fronts

81CE4A20-1E93-4EFE-B349-1AF710FF7C9B_zps

Look bit more purposeful behind the helious :)

Also gotsome topran horns, somehow during the swap 2 same tone horns were fitted and sounds terrible so rather than mess about working out what tone is what i bought new hi and low pair

FE3D4DFF-66EB-4AA2-A71A-A2FC3AF5A385_zps

Also bought a new s/wheel and gearknob yesterday, unsure of what they'll look like fitted but looked good in the ebay adverts haha

Not a lot been happening lately, bought some passat r36 rear ap coilover springs to try and stem the squat as they have the higest axle load on the platform

Touran rear vs passat

C1C70CF1-DB8D-44A2-8140-5462DEA09570_zps

Unfortunately even with adjusters etc out it sat way to high, so refitted touran items while i consider what to do next

D4153F8E-CBA9-4F45-897F-47BDBA0283C3_zps

Also decided to tend to my handbrake

7F66CB17-630A-4730-B252-CAC1562C0E9C_zps

Bought a leather handbrake off ebay but wasn't the cleanest so removed the trim and leather cover

And fitted an ebay cover in place of the leather
