Removal of boot lid trim on a 2004 Polo

The top section of trim (round the glass) is just snap fit and prised off gently using a wedge tool

 

The lower section below the window is the same except there are two fastening screws, one each at the bottom of the moulded finger recesses

 

The lock, mechanism  and handle assembly is fastened to the body with 4 x T30 screws

1 -  Handle support

q Remove:

q remove the door lining →General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.

q Remove the command rod -6-.

q Remove the safety clamp and remove the cylinder housing from the handle support.

q Remove the internal multi-toothed screw and remove the handle support.

2 -  Safety clamp

3 -  Handle

4 -  Internal multi-toothed screw

q T 30

q 4 parts

q Torque: 8 Nm

q During installation, fasten central screws first.

5 -  Cylinder housing

q remove:

q Remove the rear door lining →General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70

q Disengage the operating rod -6- from operating lever -9-.

q Disengage the safety clamp -2- and remove the housing.

q Install:

q Position the cylinder housing on the handle support.

q Press the safety clamp -2- and secure the housing.

q Engage command rod in the operating lever.

q Install the rear lid lining.

6 -  Command rod

7 -  Latch

q Remove:

q remove the door lining →General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.

q Disconnect luggage compartment lighting switch -F5- harness.

q Disengage the command rod -2-, remove the screws -8- and remove the rear lid lock.

q Install - only with the rotating lock engaged

8 -  Bolt

q Torque: 23 Nm

q Use a Multi-teeth socket mate (enc.1/2") -VW 007CV-

9 -  Activation lever

Hi Guys, Please could you tell me how to remove the hatchback / boot lid inner trim and also how to remove the outside boot handle on a 2004 Polo 1.2e,
