I wish you luck doors are model based i never seen the part number stamped in the doors... simple as 3 door front doors are longer... rear doors on the 5 door hatch and estate are the same and the bora got a different rear door profile.

For the whole door?  3 or 5 door?  Left or right?

Why?

Because he likes to ask questions for the flipping hell of it... hence I usually refer to him as an askhole...

Why?

Beacause I'm doing some research about rear doors from Passat B5 and B5.5. In parts catalogue they have the same part numbers but there are few differences. For example this strip.

I found that this strip is different and the hole in the door fot this strip also is slightly another position.

and here you can see pre-lift strip on after-lift doors.

So same part number but with minor differences. I thought I will find production number or something near the part number. I hope you understand.

But what are you trying to do?  I don't get what Passat doors have to do with a Golf?

Apart from that you are comparing one model to a facelifted model talking about the passat b5 and b5.5... different production models so there will be differences ... the mk4 golf does not have these minute differences because they are all made on the exact same shell the only one with minute differences is the r32 as it was a special model and a farewell to the mk4 platform that unlike it's predecessor actually lacked a formidable v6 that was definitely different to the normal models and had enough go from the start.

That said you got told where the differences are a few posts back... you don't need to find the part numbers... as an example:
A shell from an r32 4 door model made at the end of the production of the mk4 has the same rear doors, front doors, hatch and bonnet as the ones found on the most basic mk4 golf made at the start of the production... yes floorplan is different bumpers and the bumperliners, as is the rear suspension between those 2 but the rest is all the same.. if you don't look at the obvious interior and engine things...
