Bora PDC OEM Retrofit Coding

Best Answer northpole , 01 October 2020 - 09:18 AM

Hmm...it's just a bit odd that Kufatec say that "coding needs to be done".
I did manage to find a little coding info that suggest that you do have to "activate" the PDC:

Select 76 (parking aid)
Select Coding -> Function 7

?xxxx: OEM Trailer Hitch Wiring Harness Installed?

  • 0 = No
  • 1 = Yes
x?xxx: Type of Transmission
  • 0 = Manual
  • 1 = Automatic
xx?xx: Status of PDC you wish to have
  • 0 = Deactivated
  • 1 = Functional
xxx?x: Body type of car
  • 0 = Normal Jetta/Bora or Passat
  • 1 = Normal Golf
  • 2 = Golf, Jetta/Bora, or Passat Station Wagon
xxxx?: Name of Car
  • 3 = Golf or Jetta/Bora
  • 4 = Passat
So my example code would be: 00103

Either way, hopefully it'll be enough info to get me going..
That is what I came up with when I saw the link to that answer.. that should be it as i do think you need to activate the option on the canbus system... if not Kufatec wouldn't have mentioned it.

Ps don't forget to login to the system first it might refuse it otherwise. But come to think of it it might be like the Cruise control activation... you just type in the code on said option 76 and it's turned on. Go to the full post

Hi Chaps,

I am gearing up to retrofit the OEM PDC for my 4motion Bora...just waiting for the KUFATEC Central Wiring Loom and the inner-left sensor to arrive.

I have the KUFATEC install instructions, but it doesn't include anything on the coding front.

Is it required to enable the PDC or will it "auto-detect"?

I can't seem to find any guide relating to MK4/Bora PDC coding...

Thanks in advance

It'll likely just tie into the k-line.  Does it not just beep?

At the end of the Kufatec manual says "After the coding has been completed, you need to wait for the bus rest".

So that would suggest that there is some coding to be done.

I have read that there are a few PDC options available, like sensitivity, buzzer volume etc..but I can't find the coding guide.

I just read through the links I thought it would for sure give you the codes it actually doesn't since the link to the fabia vrs forum is not popping up... I'm certain it was on there as I've seen it before... just can't find it now...

Cheers for the vid, I'll keep it in mind, looks a lot newer than my Bora though.

I found this, which looks like the extra options: https://uk-mkivs.net...rs-not-working/

But still not 100% how to "enable"..

Possible but from the link long coding you got it doesn't seem to hard to find your code...

It'll just be k-line based so once it's tied into the bus it'll be able to be communicated with just like the other modules.
