Swapped my standard TDi seats for a seat of cloth Recaros which I am very happy with, except there is a slight knock from both fronts on acceleration and deceleration, like there is a small amount of movement. They are done up very tight, however the originals had two bolts which passed through the floor bracket into the seat, and the Recaros have two studs which pass through the bracket and are secured with nuts.

Is there also supposed to be a sleeve over the stud to prevent movement? Or is there another explanation?

There's a sorta pressed flared piece which comes loose over the years. You'd need the seats out, flip them over and give the flared piece a hit with a hammer and that should fix it.

Thanks, I should have searched it. Looks like a common problem.
