Hi all,
I'm looking for some advise, I've to change the oil return line on my golf soon. I've bought a (decent?) gently used one from breakers. I've cleaned with parts cleaner inside and out. Now I'm wondering before it goes on should I treat this oxidation? with rust curing/converting spray or with a cold galvanize spray or paint? I'm thinking to atleast take some sandpaper to it and scrap it clean but I dunno bout what's closest to factory finish for longevity..

Had a scrub on it with a brass brush..

Found a tiny lil pit, cleaned it out with a pick and some intense brushing, filled it with some JB weld high heat..

The braid will likely go before the solid does.  I'd have just bought a new one from VW if you were that bothered.

Because VW wanted what i payed for pipe + 2.5hrs labour installing it for just the pipe from them. Installing would be more again. flip that. Im that bothered.
