Hi all,

I've put a new battery in my 2008 Golf TDI (1.9 105) as it went in the cold weather before Xmas. Not needed the car so left it as is until now.

Popped a new batter in today and all good - started perfectly. Drove off and after a bit of squeaking and rubbing the brakes all cleaned up.

Went to do a u-turn at the end of the road and reverse was impossible to get. Luckily had just enough room to get around and back home.

So... Any suggestions? First time I've put a new battery in it in the 10 years I've owned it.

Apart from a new master cylinder in the clutch a few years ago its been a service + tyres workhorse.

Cheers!

Rob

Does it go into reverse easily with the engine off?

If not, could need to take the slack out of the shifter cables.
