I can't help but think it's a touch overpriced for the milage... What does everyone think?  First 3dr 1.8t in this colour I've seen in a while!

Doesn't look like it has recaros tho...

Hmm, I'll give them a call.  Don't really wanna spend that much but it will depend on what goodies it has hehe.

Were recaros optional after X reg?

Looks a little over priced...

I think from 2001 the Recaro's were a leathered option only, but the non Recaro sports seats are very good.

A touch pricey (no pun intended) imo.

My 4motion is only 6 months older, has the same mileage, climate and black leather recaros.

After negotiation I expect to get only a few hundred more than that.

Does that include the 3 year warranty??, as all the other
cars on the dealers website include a 3 year warranty.

I got my car from the same dealer, and the price on the
website included 3 Years Parts and labour warranty.

Maybe worth calling them to find out?

If it has a decent warranty then thats not a bad price, bearing in mind its a 3dr and a 1.8T.

Check for FSH tho as no mention...

We provide up to 3 years comprehensive
parts and labour warranty*, We will also provide a RAC
inspection
on all cars!.

Well it seems the extra is the warranty although its quite a way for me to go if something goes wrong...  56 miles approx, whe I have a VW audi specialist down the road from me who will do stuff for cash [:P

Just waiting for them to call me back on a few more Q's I have!

Remember what I said... Don't rush it IF you can help it [:)]

Potentially a little high, btu that's the odds for dealing with a trader (not a dealer by the looks of it!).

Also beware of those warranty's they'll try to throw your way, several aren't worth wiping your ass on the paper it's printed on mate! [n]

I wouldnt be too fussed about the climate mate. air con works great. The recaros are nice tho specialy if you can get them heated as winter is comming. I really wanted a grey one. i settled for black. If you get a grey il swap lol.

Does it matter how many miles the car has on it.. if not is 88k ok.. if so have a look at the top one in the autotrader listing..

That looks like a good value due to the low mileage (not the age)… what sort of money are you after for your 1.8 20v GTI?

I didn't think you could get a 180bhp 1.8 that early. I thought they were later with the Monty II alloys after about 2001?

You cant lol. Its 2002+ that are 180. unless its been modded? isn't even DBW is it?

edit: it has been modded to 200bhp, which makes the 180 statement pointless. Also i would be wary of the 200bhp figure lol. Probably is more 180

X reg and later have the k03s / dbw (AUM) afaik - they then re-mapped them to 180 at 2002+  Am I right in saying that?

But yes, there is one there for sale which is pretty much to spec but a sodding 1999!! [:(] lol

Kev: I didn't get much interest at £5000 so I've dropped the price to £4500 [:D]  See my sig for details [Y]

is that listed at buckinghams of guildford? if so you do get a 3year warranty with that and they do not take price reductions because of this. all depends what sort of milage you do. nice colour aswel! i got my car from buckinghams. if you look on the website you can see my car in the forecourt

Yep, I've be asking what the engine code is when I enquire about a car [Y]

Also, yes the one in the first post was Buckingham of Gilford, I read on their site about the 3yr warranty - it's just a bit of a way to travel if something goes wrong.

what do you mean long way to travel? if something goes wrong the warranty people will give you the name and address of the nearest repair centre or you can you your own place of choice. but then labour costs will be dependable on the cover

Depends who's giving the warranty.  More than likely you're right but if it's given by the trader himself for some reason, then that's that... [:)]

Is there no chance of getting a discount without warranty then get your own?
