There you have it "Naturally Aspirated" that sorts that out. They may have put a 1.8T engine in it though, even so i wouldn't touch it. Should be alot cheaper too as its non turbo.

Ways to tell if it's a 1.8T

Sorry thats just my Sh***y system. Still says its a non turbo tho. It's a NON turbo, checked on my vw system at work, its a 110bhp, engine number unknown. That's what my system says on it.
there isnt a 110bhp petrol mk4 and the 110bhp diesel does have a turbo so dont think thats quite right.
OP, cant you get this seller to send you pics of engine code when he has car back?

Not sure what system you use but THIS is a genuine ETKA so would believe this over ANYTHING else to be honest [B]
screen shot of the chassis number changing the 2nd Z to a 2 so it MUST be a typo somewhere but only a VISUAL check and conformation of the chassis number would solve ANY real doubt if you ask me

Just looking through the part numbers and PR codes and it shows the above chassis number as having
MG8 4-CYL. Gasoline engine 1.8L/110KW 20V
TURBO, EU4/D4/LEV
BASE ENGINE IS T8C/T63
OTHER engine code that share the base engine is AUM,AGU,AUQ
Also states it is fitted with RACARO trim [C]

I wouldn't just yet as it looks like just a TYPO on DVLA'S part [facepalm]
like i have said ETKA never lies and would just have to confirm the chassis number with the seller and bobs your dog, happy days

Very kind of you to do that for the OP. The silly mistakes that the DVLA make..
This forum gave me so much, so nice to give something back (Also cost me a fortune)

Probably the best idea, unless you go and view it and take someone that knows what they are looking at. Look at my build thread on the engine shots. If it doesnt look like mine then its not a turbo.

Why? It's a 1.8T...it's quite clear. The report states Naturally Aspirated however it also states 0-60 as 8.3 which is what the standard 1.8T 150 does it in.
It also states it as having 83 horsepower..that it weighs nothing and produces 15.5lb ft.
They made a mistake on the chassis number which lead to it showing up as many different parts as Dent Reform said.

Only way to be sure....RING VW. people on here are going to keep arguing. Not being funny xJay1337 but are you gonna pay this guy for the car if he buys it and its a non turbo? let him make his own decision. Best way is to actual go and look at the car simple as that.

The DVLA think my car is a 1.8L V6 lol.

Why would I pay for it DubbinLeech? I'm just saying that DentReform has proved beyond reasonable doubt that it's a turbo. and of course when he went along to buy it, he would take it for a test drive or at the very least look under the bonnet and he would probably see the alloy crosspipe. If he didn't then he could walk away!!?
It is his decision and I said originally get either engine bay shots or go look at it but he's not even looked and walking away, it's a nice looking car with delicious seats.

Randomly quoting this one as a reply.
When I first saw the add I said to the guy due to what is wrong with it I wasn't happy to pay more than £2000 he invited me to view the car. This was advertised at £2495, he since knocked £100 off himself and the £2495price was advertised as already being reduced.
If the turbo is the metal pipe running along the front I think I happy enough to spot that.
What re the complications of buying this and then the DVLA? Do I need to inform them that they are wrong? What about insurance too?
Going to need more time to re-read this thread and digest everything.

None you would need to correct the details with the DVLA about your chassis number and as for insurance you can simply say your car is a 1.8T and provide the reg number of one with the same year and body type and provide your registration to get the final stuff done.

What about taxing it since it currently comes with none?
Anything else I can try and ask the seller for? I am thinking about taking the gamble and going to view.

If its not too far mate go and look at it, cant hurt can it?
Check the sticker under the carpet in the boot, or check the sticker under the bonnet and get engine code.
If things still look dodgy then walk away.
