standard as 217bhp or 227 bhp with a performance pack that includes larger front brake discs, and a form of limited slip differential up front.

Opinions??

Interesting tbh - think theyve based more power in handling by the sounds of things which does sound very promising. Not quite the BHP figures that where expected but I got a feeling this engine can go a LONG way. As said handling seems to be quite good by the sounds of it so thats a load of money saved already when coming off the line if your looking to smash some nasty figures out of one.

Blimey you don't usually see the GTi for at least 12 months after launch.

Needs more power in my opinion. 10bhp is rather poor for a performance 'pack' (especially given the competition).

I quite like the 'swished' monzas.

Doesn't look much different to the mk6, the Golf seems to be evolving slowly.

With age comes wisdom! and it is a wise wait, if the rumors are anywhere NEAR true for the GT TDI's [:D]

I've sat in that very one, it's lovely. UK market will finally get keyless entry and push button start too!

As we all know, it won't do 47mpg. That'll just be the Euro figures, and everyone will be getting 35-42mpg.

Nice looking though!
