Now then....I'm getting a new company car  & I'm looking at ordering either a :

Mk7 GT 2.0 TDI  , 3 DR, manual 6 speed box , bi Xenon headlights

or

A3 Hatchback 2.0 Sport (with some options, load thriough, folding mirrors, 17" Kinectic rims, DAB)

I had an A3 2.0  TDI S Line as a demo car for a few days last week & I must say it was absolutely gourgeous inside.

The 2.0 unit was quiet, refined and had plenty of oompf for me....I wasn't considering the S Line due to the cost of Audi options on top.....but I could maybe stretch to the S Line (with very few options....)

The Golf GT comes with more kit as std & is probably roomier....just need to make my mind up....

Any advice ?

Cheers

Steven

Tricky now as they're so similarly priced but the Golf has a better spec to GT form I guess ?

Yep, GT comes in with better spec...Audi make you pay for a lot of the stuff that the GT comes with as standard...

I'd go for the Golf. Purely for the fact it has bi-xenons (assuming the Audi doesn't).

It has to be one of the best options money can buy. Much easier for night driving.

I've retro-fitted to the mk4 and I optioned them on my ED. Never going back to halogens.

Originally went the upgraded halogen lamp route on the mk4, just doesn't compare (running 6000k though so I don't get the full benefit).

Not quite true, the A3 Sport has Dual Zone Climate Control and a Colour Screen DIS - the Golf GT lacks both of these features.

When you level out the spec there is very little between them in price

As for which I'd buy I'm unsure, both are very good cars and perform similarly on paper at least.

Think I prefer the Audi interior though...
