Hi All,

Been a member for a bit and finally bought a Golf :D I know its a 1.6
and not everyone likes them but its all i can afford and i cant wait
until i can afford a 1.8T.

Its a 1.6se on an 02 plate with 63k on the clock and FSH.

Thoughts please and some cheap mods that aren't going to screw my
insurance over :) And before everyone says it, im looking for new
wheels, if anyone has any for sale please let me know :)

Cheers guys

I did the following mods a while ago but forgot to update my build thread. I have serviced the car and bought some goodies from the scrapyard to clean up the interior.

New engine cover and cleaned the engine bay whilst i was there.

New wheel to replace the battered faded old one.

New gearnob and gaiter to replace the faded old one.

All this cost 15 or 20 pound, cant remember.

Think im going to debadge the rear this weekend as well and have ordered a stubby aerial

I have a wedding later so took the morning off to have some fun with
the car. I fully debadged the wording on the rear after only taking off
the 1.6 before. I have also had a go at carbon wrapping the inside of
the rear badge. And I have finished it off with a wash using AG shampoo
and SRP.

Yeah they are the two main things im saving for, trying to find some decent wheels i like and will then lower it. I stenciled round the cut outs in the badge using a spare badge i have and then cut the wrap using a stanley knife. I then stuck it it and used a cocktail stick to work it into the corners of the badge. It doesnt look great if you look closely but from a distance it looks good
